Intergov Association

About the association

Advancing the practice of
intergovernmental affairs.

The National Association of Intergovernmental Affairs Professionals, known as Intergov Association, is being established to serve local government employees whose work includes intergovernmental, legislative, or federal affairs.

Our purpose

A stronger professional community.

Our purpose is to strengthen professional practice through education, shared experience, and relationships among colleagues.

The association will serve practitioners across jurisdictions of different sizes and structures, including those who carry intergovernmental responsibilities alongside other duties.

Whether your work takes you to Washington, your state capital, or a regional partnership, you should have colleagues you can turn to for perspective and practical experience.

Our approach

Practical. Informed.
Nonpartisan.

Programming will focus on the decisions and responsibilities practitioners face: setting priorities, understanding policy, representing local interests, and communicating clearly with leadership.

The association’s initial focus is professional education and exchange. Its work will be nonpartisan and grounded in the experience of people serving local communities.
